The necklace Merida wears at the clan gathering - and later uses to pay the witch for the spell - is the same necklace that Elinor wears in the prologue, implying that it is a family heirloom.

Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! :)

I’m just really emotional because when I met Merida, we talked about what it was like for her to hang out with the other Disney Princesses. After telling me what she was learning from all of them and what they’re like behind castle doors, she got this look on her face and said her Mum was soooo happy to see her being friends with Princesses and learning how to be a Princess. And when I heard about the coronation, I thought about that, how Elinor must be ecstatic.

and she’s there and she’s so proud and this is something she and Merida have worked for together. And none of the other princesses (except Rapunzel, Aurora (but their moms were absent for most of their lives), Mulan, and Tiana) even HAVE moms. Let alone mothers as influential as Elinor.

And Merida’s being crowned without a Prince by her side, with just her mom and that

I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT MERIDA AND ELINOR AND THE DISNEY PRINCESSES I’M SORRY.

MERIDA TO BE CROWNED MAY 11TH IN WALT DISNEY WORLD

It was known Merida, from Oscar-winning Disney-Pixar’s film Brave, was to be crowned this May. Besides from the scottish ceremony, there will be a coronation celebrate in Walt Disney World in May 11th.

Merida will be joining the royal Disney Princess Franchise as the eleventh Disney Princess, probably the reason why they chose May 11th. For the people who will be there during these dates, be sure not to miss it, for it will be quite the event with all the Disney Princesses together.

Next in the Royal line are Princess Anna and Elsa, from the upcoming Disney film Frozen, who will be joining the club this November.

Thank you Disney. It took 70 years and a push from Pixar, but you FINALLY gave us a mother/daughter adventure.

Bless you for not killing her/making her evil/pushing her off to the side.

I SAW THIS MOVIE WITH MY MOM AND WE BAWW’D A LOT

#it was an arranged marriage right #so what if they met for the first time and fergus was a total blushing stammering human disaster #and elinor was so terrified by the whole thing she just clung to her courtesies and hoped for the best #and that night at dinner elinor’s escort (who was kind of old and sleepy obvs) fell asleep and faceplanted into the soup #and they just looked at each other and burst out laughing #and all was well

WHY IS THIS SO ADORBS
but btw i love how brave unlike many disney movies addresses the arranged marriage problem like YEA this was a part of history and it’s ok
